Toulouse, European aeronautics and space capital, celebrates Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Through its Montaudran site, Toulouse is home to one of the biggest human and technological adventures of the 20th century and is today recognised as the historical cradle of aviation.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the legendary figure of the Aéropostale, is one of the heroes who helped Toulouse earn its colours as Europe's an aeronautics and space capital. This is why the City is paying homage to the famous aviator with the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry year events it is set to stage.

The series of events is about to open with an exhibition at the Capitole dedicated to the man of letters, the pilot and the humanist that Saint- Exupéry was. It will last from 1st July 20 September 2011. This tribute was organised with the support of the pilot's family, the Estate of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry-d'Agay and the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation.
